Motorola officials have confirmed that its budget Android smartphone Moto G will be released in India around January last week during CES which ended recently. The company is yet to disclose the price of the device. Though it is expected to be around 15-16k.

With the release of this phone, the company will be making its comeback in the sub-continent region after a hiatus of close eight months. It had even closed down the official Indian website in November last year soon after it was bought by Google. Motorola is said to sell Moto G through a distributor partner.
The Motorola Moto G flaunts a 4.5 inch IPS-LCD touchscreen with 1280x720 pixels (high definition) resolution. The display has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The 11.6 mm thick Moto G will run ANDROID 4.4 KITKAT OS out of the box, 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 quad core processor, Adreno 305 GPU, and 1 GB RAM. The phone comes in 8 GB and 16 GB internal storage variants but has no seperate micro SD card slot.
It sports a 5 MP camera at the back and has a 1.3 megapixel front camera. It also comes with a good battery backup with 2070 mAh battery. This single SIM (micro SIM) based smartphone measures 129.9 x 65.9 x 11.6 mm and weighs around 143 grams.

In the US, the unlocked variant of Moto G models are priced $179 (around ₹11,300) for 8GB and $199 (around ₹12,250) for 16GB. This device is expected to cost a little more, taking into account the custom duty charges as well as foreign exchange rate.
