Google's Halloween doodle turns you into a witch!

Although some countries are still few hours away from Halloween, which is celebrated on October 31 ever year, Google has already updated its homepage with its Halloween special doodle. The Halloween doodle features an aged witch going through a huge manuscript that includes information related to witchcraft.

After clicking on the play button of the doodle, the witch starts with her practise and gives the viewer an unique opportunity to participate with her in the proceedings. With a spooky sound in the background to add to the effect, the procedure has four different items to chose from-- a bone, bottle, skull and an apple-- out of which the witch lets you chose two items to perform her witchery.

Don't expect any trick or treat.

To know what happens next, check out the Google doodle here.

History of Halloween:

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31.  The word Halloween is a shortening of All Hallows' Evening also known as Hallowe'en or All Hallows' Eve.

Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain (pronounced "sah-win"). It is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture. Samhain was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and prepare for winter. The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped and the deceased would come back to life and cause havoc such as sickness or damaged crops.

Happy Halloween!
Have a nice day!!

BlackBerry rolls out BBM to Android, iPhone users finally.

The long-awaited cross-platform offering, which was delayed after issues arose following the initial launch last month, is now being rolled out in a phased manner.
"To help manage this unprecedented pent-up demand for BBM, we are implementing a simple line-up system to ensure a smooth rollout," Andrew Bocking, who heads the BlackBerry's BBM business, said in a blog post on the company's website.
BlackBerry said last week that 6 million Android and iPhone customers had pre-registered for the launch.
This is the final release but due to traffic concerns those who had registered earlier on its leaked version or BBM.com are given an upper hand.
Lets see how it stands to its counterparts.
As the messenger is already dominated by the likes of whatsapp and now wechat.
Some messengers are leaving no stones unturned when it comes to get a definate user base.
Wechat and Line already signed in some Bollywood bigwigs as there brand ambassador.
Now as there is some speculation about a newer version of hangout with some really cool upgrades like SMS,in app messaging.
This is the first breakthrough after the blackberry buyout few days ago.

Blackberry has just earned a letter of Intent to be sold for $4.7bn

Back in 2007 when the iPhone was launched, experts across the globe claimed it would never be able to compete against the #1 smartphone maker at the time – BlackBerry. After six years and the iPhone 5s and 5c just had the best smartphone launch weekend ever, while BlackBerry just entered a letter of intent to sell itself for $4.7 billion.

The company announced that a private group, led by Fairfax Financial, has offered to purchase it. The deal isn’t final just yet though as BlackBerry has been granted a six-week due diligence period where it can listen to other offers and will only be subject to a termination fee is it accepts a more lucrative offer for its smartphones and patents.News came up when Nokia another mobile giant was bought by Microsoft for $7.2 bn.
Prem Watsa, Chairman and CEO of Fairfax, had the following to say regarding the deal:

“We believe this transaction will open an exciting new private chapter for BlackBerry, its customers, carriers and employees. We can deliver immediate value to shareholders, while we continue the execution of a long-term strategy in a private company with a focus on delivering superior and secure enterprise solutions to BlackBerry customers around the world.”
The Diligence Period ends on November 4th, 2013, so one way or another it looks like BlackBerry is officially a goner. The deal would give BlackBerry shareholders $9 per share in cash while taking the company private. Fairfax currently owns about 10 percent of BlackBerry’s common shares and will acquire all outstanding shares for cash
