The new Nokia Lumia 530, a windows phone 8.1 smartphone within budget



Microsoft’s newest device in the Lumia series is the Nokia Lumia 530. A budget smartphone which is tagged as a successor to the best selling Nokia Lumia 520. This brand new entry-level Windows Phone runs the latest and full of features Windows Phone 8.1  and have a quad-core processor under the hood. The budget smartphone will be available in single-sim and dual-sim variants and is expected to be priced at 85 Euros i.e. approximately Rs 7000 (before taxes).

The Nokia Lumia 530 will be available globally with the rollout starting in select market including India in August 2014.

The new Nokia Lumia 530 will be available in all those youthful and bright colors like orange, white, green, dark grey with always welcomed changeable shells.

Now specifications wise, as touched on above, the Nokia Lumia 530 is boosted by a 1.2 Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor(that’s too fast), a 5MP camera, a 4-inch LCD display, 512MB of RAM. It is backed by a 1,430mAh battery and 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB (so no worries here guys). All your movies, games, songs, videos, apps can get easily fit in this small but powerful smartphone.

The phone comes loaded with the Microsoft Office apps and whopping 15GB of free space on OneDrive (so access anything anywhere).

1. Selfie was officially added to OxfordDictinaries.com in August 2013.

2. The first time that #selfie was used was in 2004 on Flickr.

3. The word selfie in the English language has skyrocketed in use. It has increased by 17,000% since 2012.

4. As of October 2013, Miley Cyrus is the celebrity with the most amount of posted selfies on Twitter with 121. Tyra Banks is second with 62.

5. Kylie Jenner, one of the young Kardashians, has posted 451 selfies on Instagram. Snoop Dogg is a distant second with 271.

6. Time magazine included the word selfie in its “top 10 buzzwords” of 2012.

7. During Myspace’s heyday (around 2006-09) self-portraits, known as Myspace pics, were common. These were usually poor quality images in front of a bathroom mirror. The switch to Facebook created a decline in amateur self-portraits, but the release of the iPhone 4 and its front facing camera lead to a resurgence of the self portrait in 2010-11.

8. Samsung discovered that selfies make up 30% of the photos taken by people between the ages of 18–24.

9. There are 35 million posts containing#selfie among the 150 million Instagram users.

10. Designer/photographer Jim Krause claims to have coined the term selfie sometime in 2005.

11. People have taken self-portraits since the 1880s, when camera shutters with self-timers were first available. This increased in 1900 with the debut of the portable Kodak Brownie box.

12. Selfies are most popular in Australia, followed by the U.S. and Canada. In fact, a 2013 survey found that two-thirds of Australian women between the age 18-35 take selfies.
